The Clay Residence

Design Intent

The Clay Residence is a study in raw textures and warm neutrals. We sought to blur the boundary between the internal volumes and the surrounding wooded landscape, relying on large-format windows and hand-burnished clay walls that shift color with the passing sun.

A sanctuary constructed from raw earthen plaster, reclaimed oak, and volcanic stone. Designed to foster stillness, this dwelling balances light and mass to create a home that feels carved out of the natural environment.
